JORGE HIGINIO MALDONADO:
Professor of the Faculty of Economics at the Universidad de los Andes. PhD in agricultural, environmental and development economics (Ohio State University), trained in Animal Science (Universidad Nacional de Colombia). His areas of interest are the application of economic tools to understand and solve environmental, natural resources, agricultural and economic development problems, with emphasis on poverty and rurality. He is currently director of the Latin American and Caribbean Environmental Economics Program (LACEEP) and coordinates the Environmental and Natural Resources Economics Study Group (GEMAR) at the Universidad de los Andes. He is the general director of the project and member of the scientific committee.
